Bell Mountain
The 1,703 ft. high Bell Mountain is located in the middle of 9,000 acres of pristine Ozark Wilderness. Bell is the sixth highest peak in Missouri. The easiest way to hike Bell is 8 miles round trip almost ensuring solitude. The glades on the mountain vary from very small to 10 acres!
Crane Lake
Crane Lake is a 100 acre lake located in a remote part of the Mark Twain National Forest. The five mile trail loops around the lake, passing in and out of rocky, rugged glades. Then it drops down into Reader Hollow and explores the shut-ins.
Buford Mountain
Buford Mountain State Forest is a pristine 3,000 acre tract with Missouri 3rd highest mountain. The mountain has five summits above 1,500 ft. Four out of the five summits have expansive glades on them. Bald Knob the fourth summit has the best views in the whole area.
Silver Mines-Millstream Gardens Trail
Silver Mines-Millstream Gardens now lies in a peaceful valley near Fredericktown. In the 1800's the valley was the center of Silver Mining operations. Now once a year, Missouri's Whitewater Championship is held on the rapids of the St. Francis River.
