The Courtois Section
The Courtois Section is the gateway to the Ozark Trail. This 45 mile long section starts next to Onondaga Cave State Park in Huzzah Conservation Area. From there, it travels 12 miles to Bass River Resort. A one mile walk on Butts Road leads to the next section of trail. Eight miles later, the trail joins the Berryman Trail and shares the trail with the Berryman Loop for the next 11 miles. After the trail breaks off the Berryman, it descends, crosses Hwy. 8, and continues 12 miles to the Hazel Creek Campground. The Trace Creek Section picks up here and heads south.
